VIVO-S 2017 Competition Rules and Schedule
1. Preliminary Round (video submitted via online application) due:
By 11:59 p.m. EST/GMT-5 on February 1, 2017
All applicants must submit a web-hosted video recording (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) via online application. The running time of the recording shall be between 5-15 minutes long. It may be a single work, or multiple works of the applicants’ choice, all of which is contained within a single video recording. Applicants are not required to perform this repertoire in the semi final round, but they may do so if they wish.
- Video recordings need not be of a professional quality, but the recording must be free of background noise and an appropriate balance between solos and accompaniment is necessary. The applicant’s face and hands must be clearly visible throughout the video. The recording must be original (not edited). Post-production handling that affects the acoustic quality of the recording (such as bias, equalization and noise reduction) is permitted but must be notified.
2. Semi Final Round will take place on February 12, 2017 at:

- About fifteen contestants from each division will be invited to the Semi Final Round. Participants must perform two different styles of compositions from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic or Modern periods from standard repertoire.
- If a contestant is unable to attend a live Semi Final Round, he or she may submit a video recording by emailing a YouTube link (a clickable URL) to audition@vivomusic.org. All recordings are due by February 10, 2017. Competition recordings need not be of a professional quality, but the recording must be free of background noise and an appropriate balance between solos and accompaniment is necessary. The contestant’s face and hands must be clearly visible throughout the video. The recording must be original (not edited). Post-production handling that affects the acoustic quality of the recording (such as bias, equalization and noise reduction) is permitted but must be notified.
- The original score should be provided for the jury on the day of the competition. All contestants must wear formal attire. Wearing jeans, short skirts, sneakers, or boots is not allowed.
- Please note that VIVO International Music Competition does not provide accompanists during the competition. Competitors are required to bring their own accompanist.
3. Final Round will take place on February 19, 2017 at:

About five contestants from each division will be invited to the Final Round. Contestants of the final round will perform a piece/pieces selected by the judges from their semi final repertoire.
The Final Rounds will be open to the general audience; tickets will go on sale in early 2017. Tickets can be purchased at website at http://www.kaufmanmusiccenter.org/mch/buy-tickets/.
- Please note that VIVO International Music Competition does not provide accompanists during the competition. Competitors are required to bring their own accompanist.
