2022-2023 Winter Competition Information:

VIVO International Music Competition is open to instrumentalists of all nationalities under the age of 18.

The competition takes place in various instrumental divisions including piano, strings, woodwinds, brass,

duo groups and chamber ensembles. The Live Audition will take place on Sunday, December 11, 2022.

Repertoire Requirements:

  • Choose either one solo piece or one movement of a Suite/Sonata/Concerto from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, or 20th/21st Century period.  Applicants need to apply separately to submit more than one piece/movement.

  • All performances must be played from MEMORY, Except Woodwinds, Brass and Chamber Music.

  • Only original pieces will be accepted for pianists, no shortened versions.

  • The judges’ decisions are final.

  • Results will be sent out by an email to all the applicants by December 19, 2022.

Age Groups:

Participants must be of qualifying age as of December 11, 2022, for the upcoming competition in December 2022.

  • Group A: Ages 8 and Under

  • Group B: Ages 9-11

  • Group C: Ages 12-14

  • Group D: Ages 15-18

2022-2023 Winter Competition Winners Concert Information:

VIVO International Music Competition Winners’ Concerts 2023 will be held at Merkin Concert Hall in New York City

  • Sunday, January 22, 2023, at 6:30pm (Group D)

  • Sunday, January 29, 2023, at 1pm (Group A & B) and 5:30pm (Group C)

  1. First prize winners are invited to perform; however, the spots will be available on a first come, first served basis. The First prize winners who cannot participate in Winners’ concert will receive a Winner’s Electronic Certificates by email.

  2. The winners who choose to perform are required to pay the concert fee of $300 (solo), $150/person (duo), and $100 per person (trio, quartet, quintet) for the Winners’ Concert.

  3. Extra performance time of up to 1 minute can be accepted for the Winners Recital with an additional fee of $100.

  4. The concert fee will include 5 guest tickets for solo, 3 tickets/person for duo, and 2 tickets/person for trio, quartet, quintet.

  5. Participants must bring their own piano accompanist. VIVO Competition does not provide piano accompanist, but can recommend one (Please email info@vivomusic.org)

  6. All fees are non-refundable.

Performance time limits for the Winners Concert:

  • Group A & B: Each Performance must not exceed 6 minutes.

  • Group C & D: Each Performance must not exceed 10 minutes.
